Light to moderate rain in districts, intense showers in mountains forecast for today

Most parts of the State are forecast to experience relief from heavy rainfall today. However, intense showers are likely at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State. According to the State meteorological centre, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorms are likely to occur at a few places in the districts with intense showers likely at isolated places in the mountains on Friday. The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to experience partly cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall/thundershowers likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 35 degrees Celsius snad 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Friday. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Thursday were 34.3 degrees Celsius and 24.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 36.2 degrees Celsius and 27.7 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 23.1 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.4 degrees Celsius and 17.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Meanwhile, the rainfall received in various parts of the State during the day was 34.5 millimetres in Kanalichina, 30 millimetres in Yamkeshwar, 28 millimetres in Garud, 27 millimetres in Laksar and 22 millimetres in Lakhamandal.
