Light showers bring respite from rising temperatures after monsoon withdrawal

Light showers brought partial relief from rising temperatures in Dehradun and other parts of the State on Monday, a few days after the withdrawal of monsoon from Uttarakhand. The maximum temperature in Dehradun was hovering at about 35 degrees Celsius though the light showers on Monday brought it down by a few notches.

The State Meteorological Centre has forecast light to moderate rain/thundershowers at a few places in Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts and very Light to light rain/thundershowers at isolated places in the remaining mountainous districts of the State on Tuesday. Dry weather is likely to prevail in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts today.

While light rain was recorded in various parts of the State on Monday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 31.5 degrees Celsius and 23.9 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 36.1 degrees Celsius and 25.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 25.3 degrees Celsius and 13.8 degrees Celsius in   Mukteshwar and 24.1 degrees Celsius and 16.6 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witnesss a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky. Thunder cloud development/ light rain are likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
