Very light to light rain/snowfall is likely in parts of three mountainous districts of the State today. The remaining districts are forecast to experience dry weather.

The State meteorological centre has forecast the possibility of very light to light rain/snowfall at isolated places in the higher reaches of Chamoli, Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh districts on Sunday. Dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness mainly clear skies with mist likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 21 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Sunday.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy skies in Dehradun increased the chill on Saturday. However, the lack of proper rain and snowfall during the winter so far is expected to affect agriculture and fruit cultivation in the State. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in different parts of the State on Saturday were 21.9 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 23 degrees Celsius and 6.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 10.2 degrees Celsius and 2.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 12.8 degrees Celsius and 3.4 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
