Light rain likely in parts of State today

The rainy weather is likely to continue in parts of the State today. The State meteorological centre has forecast that light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at a few places in the mountains and at isolated places in the plains of the State on Saturday. The meteorological centre has also issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in the State’s mountainous regions.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness mainly clear to partly cloudy skies with thunder cloud development/light rain likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Saturday.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Friday were 32.6 degrees Celsius and 17.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 31 degrees Celsius and 19.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20.4 degrees Celsius and 9.3 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 21.9 degrees Celsius and 9.7 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Light to moderate rain was reported in some parts of the State on Friday with 23 millimetres in Pithoragarh, 5.5 millimetres in Didihat and 2.5 millimetres in Gangolihat.
