Musical instruments from States to play during consecration

With the countdown for the much-awaited consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya about to start, the temple trust said that a number of musical instruments representing several States of the country would be played at the temple during the ceremony. Among the musical instruments slated to play on January 22 are the flute and dholak from Uttar Pradesh, Mridanga from Tamil Nadu, Sanai from Delhi, Sarod and Khol from West Bengal, Harka from Uttarakhand, Sitar from Jharkhand, Mardala from Odisha, Pung from Manipur and Pakhavaj from Bihar. The general secretary of the Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Khetra Champat Rai said that though over 7,000 people have been invited for the ceremony there would be seating capacity for 8,000 people. Among those invited are Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Amitabh Bachchan, Mukesh Ambani and Goutam Adani. Besides, the singers from several States have also been invited, Rai said. Queried on the criticism of the incomplete temple being consecrated, he refused to comment.
