Law & order situation pathetic in Uttarakhand: Arya

The leader of opposition in the Vidhan Sabha, Yashpal Arya has said that the law and order situation in Uttarakhand has broken down completely and the criminals . He said that it appears that the criminals have no fear of law. Arya said that the government could have set up an example by acting in a stern manner in the Ankita Bhandari murder case but it failed to do so.

He said that women are not safe in the State which once was known for its peace, culture and simple lifestyle. The LoP  said that recent heinous crime in Nainital involving a minor, Ankita Bhandari murder case, rape of a minor in Lalkuan, rape and murder of a four year old girl in Kiccha, gangrape with a minor in Uttarkashi, Hema Negi and Pinki murder cases, Chamapwat rape case, Manglaur gangrape and other incidents have shamed humanity and put a blot on the image of the State.

 Arya said that the BJP government has failed miserably on its promise of a Bhaya Mukt Sarkar.  He said that in last eight years the incidents of rape, murder, dacoity, theft and chain snatching have increased.

 Arya averred that these incidents reflect the pathetic law and order situation in the State and have created a situation of fear in the general public.
