L & T contributes Rs 5 Cr for disaster affected families

Multinational company Larsen and Turbo has provided a sum of Rs five crore for relief and rehabilitation of the people affected by recent rain triggered disaster in Uttarakhand. A delegation of the company met chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in New Delhi on Wednesday and handed over the cheque of the assistance amount for the CM relief fund.
Expressing gratitude to the company, the CM said that the contribution will be a great help for the State government. He said that the State government is consistently engaged in the relief, reconstruction and rehabilitation works in the disaster affected areas. The participation of the private sector in these works will provide an impetus to rehabilitation and relief works and help in providing fast relief to the affected people.
Dhami said that Uttarakhand is a disaster sensitive State which has to face the challenges of natural disaster from time to time. He averred that the State government has taken concrete steps to strengthen the disaster management system and relief works.
