The 53rd foundation day of Kumaun University was celebrated at its DSB campus with enthusiastic participation of the faculty, staff members and students. Notably, the university came into being in 1973. Floral tributes were paid to Thakur Dev Singh Bisht while the music department presented Vande Mataram. Tributes were paid to then chief minister, late H N Bahuguna.
Those who addressed the commemorative gathering recounted the significant role played by the university over 53 years of its existence.
