KU included in multi-institutional research project

Kumaun University, Nainital has once again proved its research capability on the national level with the university having been included in a multi-institutional research project under the Partnership for Academic and Research Advancement programme sponsored by the department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. This project will be conducted under the guidance of Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bangalore.
Notably, in this mega research project involving Rs 100 crore, 17 institutions from across the country had sent proposals. IISC selected seven institutions and formed a research group which included KU.
This will give KU’s teachers and students opportunity to work with the leading scientists of the country, exchange ideas and participate in cutting-edge research.
KU’s vice- chancellor, Prof Diwan Singh Rawat expressed happiness over this achievement and said that this project would prove to be a milestone in establishing the research identity of the university.
