The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief ministerial candidate colonel (retd) Ajay Kothiyal said that women have played an important role in the formation of Uttarakhand but their situation has deteriorated with each passing year in over two decades. He said that women must choose AAP for their better future in the state. Addressing women voters on Saturday during the party’s virtual campaign Navparivartan Samvad, he said that from sacrificing their lives for the state and from preserving villages to saving culture, women have contributed immensely at every front but it is shameful that there is still no significant improvement in the conditions of women. “Many women lost their lives or their babies due to lack of medical facility in the mountainous areas.

Both BJP and Congress who have alternatively formed governments in the state have failed to provide basic medical facilities for women in the remote areas in the past 21 years,” stated Kothiyal. He asked women voters to remember their issues and think which party can provide health facilities, quality education and other facilities to empower women while they cast their votes on February 14.
