The ‘Jan-Jan ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan ke Dwar’ programme, an initiative of good governance by sending administration to the doorsteps of citizens taken by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, is yielding positive results. The programme initiated on December 17 has so far witnessed participation of 1,97,522 citizens in the State. Under the programme, more than 300 camps have been organised so far in all 13 districts of Uttarakhand. The officials claimed that a direct dialogue has been established between the administration and the citizens through these camps, which has solved long-pending cases and further strengthened the public’s trust in the government. In the camps a total of 22,645 complaints were received from the general public, out of which more than 16,000 complaints have been resolved on the spot or within the stipulated time limit, while action is in progress on the remaining complaints.
The officials further pointed out that in addition, 31,070 applications were received for various certificates in the camps, providing relief to citizens from unnecessary visits to offices. The government claims that 1,11,326 individuals directly benefited from various public welfare schemes of the State government in the programme giving new momentum to efforts related to social security, economic assistance and livelihood.
“As per the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, this programme is not limited to grievance redressal alone but is becoming an effective platform for connecting eligible beneficiaries with schemes, simplifying administrative processes, ensuring time-bound services and strengthening good governance at the grassroots level,’’ said an official.
