The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)’s Border Out Posts (BOP) and Vibrant Villages located along the Tibet/China border in Uttarakhand are poised to receive electricity under the Centrally sponsored Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). Confirming this, the superintending engineer of Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited, Devendra Bisht said that the tender process for electrification has been completed and a company has been tasked with the execution of the project.
“The project aims to provide electricity to the high-altitude Himalayan valleys of Byas, Darma and Johar which are strategically located along the Tibet/China border. The project will not only improve the living conditions of the locals but enhance the operational capabilities of ITBP personnel stationed at the BOPs,” he said.
