The 82nd birth anniversary of the late Congress leader Indira Hridayesh was observed in Haldwani, the nerve centre of her political career spanning over decades as a leader of Uttar Pradesh and then Uttarakhand. Those present at the memorial meeting recalled her contribution in presenting the Congress as a strong and united party in Uttarakhand. Her death was a great setback for the Congress, the Haldwani-based Congress leaders said. She was also remembered for her developmental contribution in Haldwani region. The son of the late leader Sumit Hridayesh who is now the MLA from Haldwani said that people were remembering her as a strong and development-minded Congress leader.
