IIT Roorkee licenses Advanced Antenna Gain Enhancement Technology to MTEKPRO Technologies Private Ltd

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) has licensed an advanced antenna technology to MTEKPRO Technologies Private Ltd, further strengthening industry–academia partnerships in the field of wireless communication and applied electromagnetics.
The licensed innovation, titled ‘A system and method for gain enhancement in pyramidal horn antenna using band pass gain boosting surface (GBS)’ (Patent Application No. 202311057857), has been developed by Prof Gowrish Basavarajappa and Kalyan Mohan Patnaikof IIT Roorkee. By integrating a novel GBS, the technology offers enhanced efficiency and broad application potential for next-generation communication systems.
Regarding the development, Prof Basavarajappa, said, “The collaboration with industry will help translate our lab research into practical deployment.”
The representatives from MTEKPRO Technologies Private Ltd, Taiyab Zia Ahmed and Deepa Goyal expressed the company’s commitment to scaling the innovation, saying, “We are excited to bring this IIT Roorkee technology into our product line.”
The director, IIT Roorkee, Prof K K Pant, applauded the development, stating, “At IIT Roorkee, we place strong emphasis on ensuring that research outcomes create tangible value for society.”
