The Congress spokesperson Garima Dasauni said that the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Gandhi centenary eye hospital (GCEH) Dehradun has failed to come up even after one and half years.

The Congress leaders said that during her visit to the hospital she found that the boards mentioning an ICU on the fourth floor are placed everywhere but when one comes on this floor there is no existence of ICU. Terming it as a gross negligence and apathetic attitude of the state government, she said that the BJP government had entered into an agreement with hospital management during Covid pandemic in August 2020  that an ICU would be opened in the hospital.

Dasauni said that the government has already paid more than 50 per cent of the budget for the ICU but it has not come into existence yet. She said that the GCEH is known as a female hospital but it has very few female patients. The Congress leader said that the hospital has become a favourite spot for the transfer seekers but it always wears a deserted look.
