Hydro power plants of U’khand achieve record generation in April

Amid acute shortage of power many hydro power stations of UJVN limited have achieved record production in the month of April 2022. 

The 20.9 MW Pathari power plant on upper Ganga canal in Haridwar, the 9.3 MW Mohamadpur power plant and 198 MW Kalagarh power plants in Pauri district have achieved record power generation in the month of April, 2022.

The Managing Director (MD) of UJVNL, Sandeep Singhal said that Pathari Power plant generated 11.482 MU of power in April which is a record. Prior to this Pathari had a previous record of 11.312 MU in April 2017. Similarly the Mohamadpur plant generated 5.170 MU of power in April which broke its previous record of 5.097 MU in April 2019.  Singhal said that Ramganga project generated 68.486 MU of power in April which is the highest generation of April in any year. This water supply to the project is controlled by Uttar Pradesh (UP) and depends on the irrigation  needs of its farmers.
