Hunt continues for killer-leopard

After the recent death of 71-year-old Pushpa Devi in ​​a leopard attack, the Forest department has tightened security in the Mora Tok area. A team of 50 forest personnel has been patrolling in different shifts with tranquiliser guns. The villagers have been asked not to venture out alone after sundown and stay away from forest. The number of trap cameras has been increased to 13 but the leopard’s activity has not been captured in them yet. Two cages have also been installed.  

Meanwhile, the divisional forest officer, Chandrashekhar Joshi handed over a cheque of Rs six lakh to the family of the deceased. He assured the villagers that the Forest department is going all- out to capture the leopard. He urged them not to go into the forest for fodder and assured that the Forest department would provide fodder the villagers need.
