HNBGU students selected for National Entrepreneurship Challenge at IIT Bombay E-Summit

A team of 13 innovative students (11 boys and two girls) from HN Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU) is set to represent the institution on a prestigious national platform. The students will be attending the E-Summit and participating in the finals of the National Entrepreneurship Challenge (NEC), organised by the Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) of Indian Institute of Technology- Bombay.

The students’ journey to this national level was supported by rigorous mentorship from the university’s research and incubation wings. The team worked under the guidance of Hemwati Nandan, director of the Research and Development Cell (RDC).

Crucial technical and strategic support was provided by the coordinators of the Technology Pre-Incubation Cell at HNBGU, including Digar Singh, Rohit Mahar, Bhaskaran and Varun Barthwal. University officials said that their mentorship played a vital role in refining the students’ entrepreneurial ideas and preparing them for the competitive environment of the challenge.

Prior to their departure, the team received encouragement from the university vice chancellor Prakash Singh congratulated the students, emphasising the importance of innovation in today’s academic landscape. Registrar Rakesh Kumar Dhodi and Finance Officer Sanjay Dhyani, dean of Student Welfare OP Gusain also expressed confidence that the students would bring laurels to the university.

The E-Summit to be held on December 11-12 at IIT Bombay is one of Asia’s largest student-run business conclaves. It serves as a meeting point for budding entrepreneurs, investors, venture capitalists, and industry experts. The summit features high-stakes competitions like the NEC, workshops and speaker sessions designed to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship. Participation in such a premier event offers HNBGU students a unique opportunity to network with industry leaders and showcase their potential on a national stage.
