Saturday, 07 July 2018 | PNS | Dehradun– Akhil Bhartiya Majdoor Sangh (ABMS) said that the sanitation workers are still awaiting the salary hike as  approved two months ago. The miffed sanitation workers submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate Dehradun S.A Murugeshan on Friday,  asking  him to ensure that the hike is effected at the earliest as promised. Notably, the sanitation workers had stopped work  for nearly 12 days in the city, demanding salary hike in May following which the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat promised to hike their  salary. President of the ABMS Rajesh Kumar said that the officers are still sitting on the assurance meted out by the CM himself. “We are still being made to wait with the officers dithering to act on the CM’s assurance. This is strange,” he said. He ,further, said, “If things are not cleared soon we might be left with no other option but to go for another strike to press our demands,” he warned.
