High Court orders stay on implementing regularisation rules 2013

Petitioners contend rules contravene SC orders

The High Court has ordered a stay on implementation of the state government’s regularisation rules 2013 till further orders. The High Court has also directed the state to not regularise temporary employees in departments, corporations, councils and other government undertakings under the regularisation rule 2013. The case was taken up for hearing by the division bench of chief justice Ramesh Ranganathan and justice RC Khulbe on Monday. According to the case details, Nainital district residents Narendra Singh Bisht and others had filed a petition in the high court. The petitioners had stated that being engineering diploma holders, they are eligible for appointment to the post of junior engineer. Challenging the regularisation rules 2013, the petition contends that these rules contradict Supreme Court decision in the case related to Uma Devi and ML Kesari.
