Heavy rain/snowfall warning issued for three districts

Thunderstorms with hail & intense showers likely in seven districts

The State meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the possibility of heavy rain/snowfall in some places of three mountainous districts today. Further, thunderstorms accompanied with hail/ lightning/ intense showers are forecast in parts of seven districts. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/snowfall/thunderstorm is likely to occur at many places in the State on Tuesday with snowfall likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 2,800 metres and above.

The meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the possibility of heavy rain/snowfall likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts on Tuesday. In addition to this, thunderstorms accompanied with hail/ lightning/ intense showers are likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain/thunderstorm likely to occur towards the evening/night. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 24 degrees Celsius and eight degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Monday were 25.2 degrees Celsius and 6.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 28.6 degrees Celsius and 6.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 13.4 degrees Celsius and 1.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 15.1 degrees Celsius and 3.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
