Heavy rain, intense spells likely in Dehradun & two other districts

Most parts of the State may experience relief from heavy rains today though there is a possibility of heavy rain in some parts o the State. The State Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rain/thunderstorms accompanied by lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri and Bageshwar districts on Friday. Further thunderstorms accompanied by lightning/intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the

remaining mountainous districts of the State. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts and at many places in the remaining districts of the State today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. One to two spells of light to moderate rainfall/thundershowers are likely to occur which may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum

temperatures are likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was reported in various parts of the State on Thursday with 45.8 millimetres in Jolly Grant, 19 millimetres in Dehradun, 17.5 millimetres in Rudraprayag, eight millimetres in Tanakpur, 6.5 millimetres each in Chamoli and Thalisain, six millimetres in Narendranagar and 5.5 millimetres in Ramnagar.
