Harela festival: 5,000 saplings planted in Century Mill premises

To mark the Harela festival, 5000 saplings have been planted in the Century Mill premises here on Wednesday. These saplings were of different species like Amaltas, Kachnar, Neem, Karonda, Oleander, Gulmohar and Ashoka-all considered important from the environmental point of view.

Pallavi Gupta urged all from the State to be a part of the tree plantation campaign for environmental protection. “We all are part of this Mother Earth. Our existence depends upon the wellbeing of Mother Earth. We can ignore this fact only at our peril,” she warned.    The CEO, in his address, exhorted all the staff members of the mill and others to take the plantation seriously. “It is a key to ensuring a thriving environment and human survival on the planet,” he added.
