By slapping cases on Cong leaders the BJP govt is resorting to vendetta politics: Mohan Bhandari
In protest against the alleged selective harassment of the Congress leaders and workers by the incumbent government of Uttarakhand, the workers of National Students Union of India (NSUI) organised demonstrations in different parts of the state on Saturday. The president of the state unit of the NSUI, Mohan Bhandari said the way in which the state government is registering cases on the Congress leaders and workers only suggests the vendetta politics of the BJP. He said that the BJP government wants to suppress the voice of the opposition by registering cases on the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Pritam Singh and other leaders. Bhandari said that on June 25, cases were registered against 165 Congress leaders when they were protesting against increase in prices of petrol and diesel.
He said that prior to this the government had slapped cases against the former president of Youth Congress Bhuwan Kapdi, senior leader Himanshu Bijalwan and other Congress leaders. Bhandari said that many BJP leaders had openly flayed the rules during the lockdown and had held public meetings where social distancing was not observed but no action was taken against them. Bhandari said that the NSUI strongly condemns the political vendetta unleashed by the BJP government on the Congress leaders.
