Guv discusses tourism promotion with hotel & restaurant owners

The Governor Lt Gen (retd) Gurmit Singh met the office bearers of the Hotels and Restaurants Association, Nainital, at Raj Bhavan during which discussions were held on the problems related to tourism facilities and infrastructure development in Nainital and its surrounding areas and their possible solutions.

While speaking of natural beauty of Nainital, particularly, Naini lake, which fascinates the tourists from the country and abroad, the Governor said that modern tourism facilities need to be developed. “The State government is making all efforts to promote quality tourism here,” he added. He also broached the parking problem in the lake town and stressed on building small parking lots while exploring the options like multi-storey parking and ropeway.

The association members put several suggestions to Singh while emphasising expansion of the Pantnagar airport and promotion of horticulture tourism. Among those present for the association was its president, Digvijay Singh Bisht.
