After the additional district judge (ADJ) court of Dehradun rejected the bail of Anil Kumar Gupta (51) and Ajay Kumar Gupta (58) in the case of the suicide of builder Satendra Singh Sahni on Friday, both the accused decided to approach the High Court. According to the advocate of the Guptas Abhiyanshu Dhyani, they told the court that Anil Gupta and Ajay Gupta had no personal grudge towards Sahni. It was all related to transactions and business.

The deceased had registered complaints against them which were being investigated by the authorities. However, the public prosecutor said that Sahni was a good man who was allegedly pushed to commit suicide by both accused. The Guptas are influential people and can possibly try to tamper with evidence or influence witnesses if they are out on bail. The court rejected their bail once again on Friday, Dhyani said. He said that the ADJ dismissed their case and they will now appeal in the High Court on Monday. It is pertinent to mention here that the Gupta duo is accused of abetting the suicide of the builder,

Sahni who jumped off the eighth floor of the Pacific Golf Estate building on May 24. He was taken to Max Hospital but died during the treatment. His son, Ranveer Singh Sahni, presented a suicide note allegedly written by his father before his death. The deceased allegedly mentioned the name of the Guptas in his suicide note, claiming they had been harassing, threatening, and blackmailing him. Both accused have been in jail since their arrest on May 24.
