After the Gulabi Kantha Trek was declared ‘Trek of the Year 2025’, the State Tourism secretary Dheeraj Garbyal flagged off the first team from the Dehradun office of Trek the Himalayas (TTH).
He said that to present the State’s adventure tourism wealth to the nation as well as the world, a new trek is selected each year as ‘Trek of the Year’. “The selection of the Gulabi Kantha trek is a historic step in this direction. It can be undertaken anytime, irrespective of the weather. It will attract a large number of tourists from both India and abroad in the future,” he said.
The first group, consisting of 21 participants from various states, left Dehradun for Sayanachatti and from there it will embark on the six-day Gulabi Kantha trek.
Experts believe that this trek is set to become one of Uttarakhand’s major tourist attractions in the future.
