Education Dept to provide tablets to 30,000 primary school teachers

Dept to undertake massive enrollment campaign on April 11

The Education department of Uttarakhand will distribute tablets to 30,000 primary school teachers in the State. The department will transfer a sum of Rs 10,000 in the bank account of the teachers for purchasing the tablets of their choice.

The Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said on Saturday that the objective of the State government is to provide better education to every child. He said that a mega enrollment campaign (Pravesh Utsav) will be organised in all the government schools of the State on April 11 in the State. Rawat said that the campaign will be launched by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami by giving admission to new students in the residential school at Baniyawala.  The minister added that the programme would be organised in all districts, blocks and schools and the Members of Parliament, MLAs, district Panchayat presidents, Mayors, block Pramukhs and chairpersons of the municipal bodies would attend the programme. These public representatives would also interact with local people and encourage them to admit their wards in the government schools.

Rawat said that in the programme the CM would also give a gift of tablets to the primary teachers. He said that the objective of the State government is to connect primary education with the digital platform. This would be of immense benefit for the students studying in the primary schools, he added.
