Govt considering diploma engineers’ just demands: Maharaj

The State PWD minister, Satpal Maharaj said that with the diploma engineers working across the State while battling difficult geographical conditions, the State government would positively consider all the justifiable demands included in the 12-point charter of demands submitted by the Uttarakhand Diploma Engineers Association, PWD. He said this while virtually addressing the diploma engineers at the 12th conference of Uttarakhand Diploma Engineers Association here on Saturday. “The process of increasing the posts of junior engineer, assistant engineer and higher posts as per the requirement of the department is in progress which will be finalised soon,” he said, adding that the proposal of departmental restructuring was being sent by the department to the State government.
Lauding the works of the diploma engineers, he said that they are the fulcrum of the infrastructure development of the State. “Their role in the smooth conduct of Char Dham Yatra can hardly be over-appreciated,” he said.
