MCD penalises 50 dog owners without dog licenses

The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun has penalised over 50 dog owners in a week for not having valid dog licenses. The senior municipal veterinary officer Dr DC Tiwari said that the corporation has formed two teams that raise awareness among locals and impose fines during early morning and night. He said, “We are currently imposing a fine of Rs 500 on dog owners but it will be increased if the owners fail to make the license within the specified time.” 

The corporation also held a camp in Pacific Hall Society near Mussoorie Diversion Road on Sunday 0to raise awareness about registering for dog licenses. Tiwari said that the corporation issued licenses to 18 dog owners and 22 people applied for the license in the camp. He said that the MCD is strategically working to improve the conditions in the city related to dog issues and improvement will be visible in the next few months.
