Government medical colleges to get 142 new faculty members

The government medical colleges of the State will soon get 142 permanent faculty members. The Uttarakhand Medical Services Selection Board (UMSSSB) released the result of the recruitment examination of the assistant professors of the government medical colleges on Tuesday. The selected candidates will soon be appointed in the government colleges of the State.
The medical education department had sent a requisition to the UMSSSB to recruit 439 assistant professors on various vacant posts in the medical colleges of the State after which the board started the process of recruitment process. After the end of the process, the UMSSSB released the final result in which 142 specialist doctors were selected for more than two dozen departments of the government medical colleges of the State.
The list includes 16 assistant professors in anaesthesia department, 12 each in community medicine and pathology, nine each in microbiology and orthopaedics, eight in gynaecology, seven each in paediatrics and biochemistry, six each in psychiatry and physiology, five each in respiratory medicine and pharmacology, four each in ophthalmology and auto rhino-laryngology, three each in blood bank, radiotherapy and dermatology, two in dentistry and one each in emergency and forensic medicine.
The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the UMSSSB has announced the result of the assistant professor recruitment process and soon these 142 candidates will be appointed in the government medical colleges of the State. He said that the appointment of the permanent faculty members will help in qualitative improvement in education, training and research activities in the government medical colleges of the State. He said that the students of the medical colleges and general public will benefit from the appointment of these faculty members.
