Godiyal asks Govt to make points of reference for CBI probe public

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun
Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal has demanded that the State government should make the contents of the recommendation it made to the Union government for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the Ankita Bhandari murder case public.
Godiyal claimed that he has learnt from reliable sources that the State government is now trying to limit the scope of the investigation by CBI to the “VIP” involved in the case. He said that the terms of the references in the recommendation made for the CBI probe should be made public. Godiyal said that the points of investigation which the government has recommended for the CBI probe should also be made public.
He said that the CBI should inquire about the people who called on phone of Ankita Bhandari and the chats she had with her friend. Godiyal added that the CBI should also investigate as to who ordered the demolition of the Vanantara resort and who destroyed the evidence in the case. The phone records of the culprits who are in jail should be checked by the CBI. Godiyal added that the CBI should also investigate as to why the police failed to prevent destruction of evidence at Vanantara resort.
The PCC president said that the Congress party will continue to protest till the government makes the terms of reference of the CBI probe recommendation public and all aspects of the case are investigated properly. He appealed to the people to support the bandh call given by the Congress, other opposition parties and social organisations on January 11.
