GDMC hospital stops admitting pregnant women

In view of the increasing cases of the Covid-19 in the state, the administration of Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital here has decided to stop admitting the pregnant women in its female wing. Now all the cases of delivery would be referred to the Gandhi Centenary Hospital. The principal of GDMC, Dr Ashutosh Sayana said that the decision has been taken due to reporting three Covid-19 cases in the admitted pregnant women in the hospital. He said that now deliveries of Covid-19 affected females would be done in the hospital. The Principal said that the chief medical officer (CMO) of Dehradun has been informed about the decision so that necessary arrangements can be made in the Gandhi centenary hospital. He said that the timing of registration in OPD of the hospital has been reduced to reduce the patient load.
