Gairsain set to rock winter session of U’khand Vidhan Sabha
Former CM Harish Rawat to sit on a fast at Gairsain on Dec’4 the day the winter session of Vidhan Sabha is commencing in Dehradun.
With former chief minister Harish Rawat decided to stage a sit in at Gairsain on the opening day of the winter session of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, the issue of Gairsain is all set to rock the assembly proceedings. The former CM who also is general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has declared that he would stage a Dharna at Gairsain on December 4. He has accused the state government for ignoring the issue of Gairsain which is the linked with the emotions of the people of the state. Rawat said that it would be for the first time since 20014 when not even a single session would be held in Gairsain which is very unfortunate.
In a video which is making rounds, the former CM while sipping black tea and munching over local delicacy (tuber) declared that he would be going to Gairsain. In what appears to be a jibe on the state government and chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, the former CM said that during this time of the years, the days are very sunny. It is worth mentioning here that on question of government not convening session at Gairsain, CM Rawat has said that since winters are at their peak and holding session at Gairsain would be problematic for the members’ especially older ones to attend assembly there. It is clear that apart from presenting himself as champion on the Gairsain, the former CM wants to puncture the state government’s stand of the place being too cold for aged, for Harish Rawat himself being on wrong side of the age. Undertaking the meaning behind the latest move of Harish Rawat, the state BJP has become belligerent on him. Meanwhile it is almost sure that the Congress party would raise the issue of Gairsain in the state assembly. It is pertinent to mention here that the Uttarakhand assembly during the reign of Harish Rawat had passed a unanimous resolution that at least one session would be held in a year at Gairsain.
