Free health camps to be held in villages from Dharali to Tihar-Sanglai

To provide quality treatment to the people living in the frontier, inaccessible and disaster-affected areas, a two-month special free health service campaign has been jointly launched by the Uttarkashi Health department and TSL Foundation, Gurgaon. Under this initiative, launched on the guidelines of the district magistrate Prashant Arya, a mobile medical van along with an expert medical team has been deployed which will provide health services in a phased manner in the vibrant villages and disaster-affected areas of the district.

Speaking of the initiative. The chief medical officer, Dr B S Rawat said that the mobile medical vans would conduct health camps in the villages designated as Vibrant Villages and also the disaster-affected areas of Bhatwari block on the scheduled dates. While  a camp will be held in Dharali on December 9  the same will be held in Bagori and Mukhwa on December 10.  The same will be held in Jhala on December 11 and the next day it will be held in Jaspur. On December 13, camps will be held in Tihar and Sanglai.

The CMO further stated that this collaboration with the TSL Foundation would prove extremely beneficial for people living in mountainous areas who have to travel long distances to access healthcare. “Now they will have easy access to primary care, general medical consultations, essential tests and free medicines in their own villages,” he added.

The district programme manager (NHM) Hardev Rana and a medical team from the Health department will be present during the health camps.
