Four dengue & two Covid-19 cases reported in Dehradun

Four new cases of dengue and two cases of Covid-19 were reported in Dehradun district on Tuesday. The Dehradun Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma stated that four people tested positive for dengue on Tuesday. Three of these patients have been admitted to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, while the fourth has been admitted to Himalayan Hospital. This raises the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 133, with 71 cases originating in Dehradun and 62 from other districts or States.
Sharma said that there are currently 20 dengue patients under treatment-10 at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, four at Himalayan Hospital, one at Graphic Era Hospital, four at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and one is receiving care at home. On Tuesday, a total of 175 dengue samples were collected, bringing the total number of samples tested to 7,994 so far.
Further, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and Health department volunteers conducted 12,090 house surveys to check for mosquito larvae. Among these, 83 homes were found to have larvae. To date, the department has completed a total of 849,682 surveys, with 3,096 revealing positive findings. Additionally, ASHA workers and volunteers examined 91,425 containers, finding that 111 of them contained larvae on Tuesday. Overall, they have inspected 5,482,235 containers, with 3,861 testing positive for larvae.
Sharma said that two locals also tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total so far to 67 cases—consisting of 55 local residents and 12 migrants. Currently, there are four active Covid-19 cases in the district, with one patient receiving treatment at the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital and three others being cared for at home. He also said that 20 samples were tested for Covid-19 on Tuesday, bringing the overall number of samples tested to 686.
