Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that forests and wildlife are the State’s priceless heritage. He said this during a visit to Corbett Tiger Reserve on Sunday. He began his tour with a visit to the Dhela range and the Fato tourism zone.

The CM then planted fruit-bearing trees in the Corbett Tiger Reserve premises, promoting the message of environmental conservation. He was later joined by forest personnel on a jungle safari. He said that the jungle safari in Corbett has gained a new identity due to the efforts of the State government. Speaking to the media, Dhami emphasised that forests and wildlife are Uttarakhand’s invaluable heritage, and it is the collective responsibility of all to protect and preserve this wealth.

Every year, lakhs of tourists visit Uttarakhand’s forests and tiger reserves, which not only enhances the State’s image but also provides employment opportunities for local communities. He further stated that the state government is consistently working to mitigate human-wildlife conflict while also enhancing wildlife conservation.

The CM also reviewed tourism activities in the Fato Zone, calling it a significant source of livelihood for the locals. “Forests and wildlife are our legacy and by protecting them, we not only safeguard the environment but also open up new avenues for tourism and employment,”he said. Corbett director Saket Badola and others were also present on the occasion.
