Edu dept of U’khand launches channels for online studies

All the students of the state get the benefit of these educational channels- CM

In an attempt to connect the school students with online education the education department of Uttarakhand has tied up with the telecommunication giant Reliance Jio to start two online channels.  Named Gyanwani 1 and Gyanwani 2 these channels were launched by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday. The Gyanwani 1 is for primary students while Gyanwani 2 is for secondary students.

 Appreciating the initiative, the CM said that it should be ensured that all the students of the state get the benefit of these educational channels. He said that the objective behind the project would be fulfilled only when the person standing on the last step of the social ladder is benefitted. Dhami added that the schools play an important role in the physical and mental development of the children. He said that during the pandemic period many appreciable initiatives were taken for online education of children.

Speaking on the occasion, the education minister Arvind Pandey said that online education started during the pandemic of Covid-19 and now many educational activities are being organised by online means. He suggested that the PM e- Vidhya content, which is based completely on the syllabus of National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT), should be included in the Gyanwani channel.

The secretary education, Radhika Jha said that efforts are being made to connect students with online education along with offline mode of education.

The chief education officer (CEO) of Jio Vishal Agarwal said that all NGOs associated with the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) can get their content telecast from the Gyanwani channel.

The director general (DG) school education Bansidhar Tiwari, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Dehradun Mukul Kumar Sati and state coordinator of Jio Dilip Singh were present on the occasion.
