A first information report (FIR) was lodged at Kotwali New Tehri on the direction of the Tehri district magistrate, Nitika Khandelwal regarding irregularities found in allotment of rehabilitation plots. Earlier, the DM had constituted an inquiry committee led by the additional district magistrate Awadhesh Kumar. Notably, a case on plot allotment irregularity in the rehabilitation site Nirmal (Block A, B) and Aam Bag
had come to the fore. Considering the seriousness of the case, the district Rehabilitation department had directed the Police department for necessary action following investigation of the complaints.
The DM reiterated that the district Rehabilitation department would ensure that strict legal action is taken against the perpetrators of the irregularities as per rules. Besides, necessary steps are being taken to effectively stop recurrence of such irregularities in future, she said.
