The Cabinet minister Rekha Arya inaugurated a film festival here on Saturday. The three-day festival will showcase selected films from India and abroad in various languages. Interactive sessions will also be held between filmmakers and audiences, the organisers said.
In her inaugural address, Arya said that films are a powerful medium of communication. “Hence, the people associated with film production also have a big social responsibility. The films should be used to impart inspiring messages and lessons to society. These are not just a source of entertainment but also a mirror of society. Therefore, filmmakers should incorporate social concerns and a positive outlook into their creativity,” she noted.
On this occasion, senior actor Rajat Kapoor, actress Ahana Kumara and producer Sharad Mittal were among others present.
