Father of four arrested for teenager’s rape

The police on Sunday arrested a man, who is married and has four children, from Haryana for allegedly eloping with a teenager. The officials informed that a woman named Nafisa (name changed) from Sahaspur registered a complaint on January 19 that her daughter (15) had gone to school to appear in an exam but she did not return. The family searched for her in all possible places but could not find her.

The police registered a complaint and started the investigation. It was revealed in the investigation that a man named Saddam alias Hussain Khan (35) , a resident of Saharanpur, lured the minor girl to go along with him. The officials said that the police got the possible locations of the accused based on the surveillance of his mobile phone numbers. The police also conducted raids on the possible hideouts of the accused in Haryana’s Sonipat and pasted pamphlets about the accused across the Sonipat and other places for kidnapping the girl. The police also spread the information through social media and activated the local informer’s system there. After consistently searching for the accused, the police finally arrested him on Sunday from Sonipat’s Adarsh Nagar town.

The officials informed that the accused has four children and his wife is pregnant with their fifth child. The victim has said in her statement that Khan had allegedly raped her. He was arrested under Section 363, 366(A) and 376(3) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3/4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused was sent to  Suddhowala district jail after police presented him before the court on Sunday, the officials added.
