In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Congress stalwart and the former chief minister Harish Rawat launched a blistering attack on the independent candidate Umesh Kumar for the Haridwar constituency from where his son Virendra Rawat is trying his poll luck as Congress candidate. Dubbing Kumar as an inveterate liar and a notorious stingster, he said that the Khanpur MLA has engaged in a malicious campaign to vilify his image. He referred to Kumar’s jibe that after election, Rawat was all set to switch to the saffron camp. Referring to the photo Kumar shared that showed Rawat handing a bouquet to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress veteran said that it was a picture dating back to 2016 when he was the chief minister and Modi came to Uttarakhand. Tearing further into Kumar, he said that such a person was now dreaming to enter the Parliament as a member.
