CM’s warning: Expedite departmental recruitment or face action
The secretaries concerned will be responsible for departmental recruitment and strict action will be taken against the officials concerned in case of any unnecessary delay in the recruitment. Stating this while chairing a meeting to review recruitment process in Government departments on Friday, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat instructed that the status report of recruitment should be submitted to the personnel secretary every 10 days. The personnel secretary will compile all the reports and present these to the Chief Minister.
Expressing dissatisfaction at some departments not providing details of action taken to fill vacant posts, Rawat directed them to submit the said information soon to the personnel department. “The State Government was to expedite appointments to vacant posts. This will provide job opportunity to the youth and prevent delays in development works due to paucity of employees. Any type of carelessness will not be tolerated. There shouldn’t be unnecessary delay in fulfilling the formalities,” he said.
Rawat also directed formation of a committee to consistently monitor the status of departmental vacancies and steps being taken to fill these. To avoid any shortcomings in the requisitions sent by departments, coordination should be established with public service commission and subordinate service selection commission.
Rawat further said that process for filling posts of the same nature in different departments should be undertaken simultaneously if possible. Special priority should be accorded to resolve the shortage of field employees.
The State public service commission chairman AS Rawat said that presently no requisition is pending.
The subordinate service selection commission chairman S Raju said that process underway for recruitment to 5,000 posts will be completed in about eight months.
