Escalating Indo-Pak tension: IPL suspended indefinitely

PIONEER NEWS SERVICE
In view of the escalating military confrontation between India and Pakistan, the Indian Premier League (IPL) was suspended indefinitely. Notably, Thursday’s match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala was cancelled midway following air raid alerts for Jammu and Pathankot. While confirming the suspension of the league, a BCCI official told a news agency that with the country being at war, continuance of cricket matches did not look nice.
Earlier in the day, the Pakistan Super League was moved to the UAE in the wake of Indian drone attacks in Lahore and Rawalpindi among other cities.
The players of Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings are returning to Delhi from Dharamsala by road.
