A large number of industrialists from India and abroad, CEOs of various companies and entrepreneurs will be attending the Destination Uttarakhand- Investors’ Summit 2018 slated to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 7. Reviewing preparations for the two-day event, chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that foolproof arrangements should be ensured by the end of this month. All essential information should be easily available to the entrepreneurs and investors expected to attend the summit.
At the venue of Investors’ Summit, there should be a glimpse of the natural beauty and culture of Uttarakhand. Rawat said that those attending the summit will be informed as to why it is beneficial for them to invest in Uttarakhand and all their queries will be answered. For this, all updated information should be on the fingertips of all the departmental officers, especially those related to the areas being focused upon in the summit.
The CM said that special attention should also be given to availability of backwards linkage for investors. For this, women self help groups should also be involved. Selected students from technical colleges and universities should also be given the opportunity to participate in it. The opportunity should also be exploited for promoting tourism, especially winter tourism in Uttarakhand. With tourism also being a major focus area of the summit, ‘fog free winter tourism’ could be the punch line, he suggested.
He also directed that work should be undertaken on a war footing for cleanliness of the city, betterment of roads, beautification and other works. All these tasks should be completed by the end of this month, he stressed. Dishes from the state should be served to those attending the summit, he added.

A blueprint for the preparations has been made and the arrangements are being made accordingly. Online registration has been started.
