He said that it will also help in providing quick and error free online services to the citizens. As per the direction of the central government, the State government has made the installation of Vehicle Location Tracking Device (VLTD) in all goods vehicles mandatory across the State.

The department has also recently exempted those transport vehicles like electric carts and two-wheeler or three-wheeler goods vehicles from mandatory installation of this tracking device that do not require permits under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The transport minister said that installation of VLTD is being done efficiently across the state. He said that the department has presently authorised 17 VLDT manufacturers that comply with the required standards of the government and so far, 24,833 vehicles have installed this device across the State.

The department’s aim is to ensure safe public vehicle service in every area of the State with the installation of VLTD and the Vehicle Location Tracking monitoring centre will immensely help the department to achieve it, added the minister.
