Engineering student from Bihar dies and two sustain injuries in car crash near Vikasnagar

A student from Bihar died and two others sustained serious injuries when their car (UK 07 HE 9736) crashed into a tree near a mosque in the Vikasnagar area of Dehradun district on Sunday morning. All three were students at an engineering college in Sahaspur area. According to the officials, the Sahaspur police station received information about the car crash from the control room. A police team immediately reached the site and transported the three injured individuals to CHC Sahaspur in a 108 ambulance. They stated that at the hospital, doctors declared 22-year-old Satyam Kumar, son of Pankaj Kumar and a resident of Muzaffarpur, Bihar, dead. The two other injured students, 21-year-old Vineet, son of Sanjay Kumar Gupta from Muzaffarpur, Bihar and Saurabh Singh, son of Rakesh Singh from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, were referred from the Sahaspur Community Health Centre to a higher centre for further treatment. The officials said that an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway. The police are conducting an inquest report and post-mortem examination for the deceased. Some local residents stated that the car may have been traveling at high speed at the time of the crash. Police, however, stated that the investigation is ongoing and they cannot confirm the exact cause at this stage. The police are examining the vehicle and the accident site to determine the factors that led to the crash, they said. They also informed that the police are also coordinating with the families of the deceased and the injured to provide support and assistance.
