Vir Das was at Emmy Awards 2021 where he wore an outfit by Pradeep Bhatt, a 4th year NIFT student, who belongs to Haldwani, Uttarakhand. The comedian-actor took to social media and put up pictures of him wearing the designer piece and and wrote,” Did not want to go with a fancy foofoo designer for the Emmys. Put a post out saying if you’re struggling or studying, I would buy & wear your design. We found #PradeepBhatt @pradbhatt from Haldwani, Uttarakhand in his 4th year at NIFT Kangra. Proud to wear your first originals buddy. Hope this is the beginning of a wonderful future for you! This outfit will soon be auctioned for charity.” He had put up a post in September for the budding designers and told that he would wear something by a brand new Indian designer.
Vir Das was nominated at the Emmys for best comedy in the Netflix comedy special Vir Das: For India but lost out to Call My Agent Season 4 from France.
