
An elephant was found dead in the Jhirna range of Corbett national park on Friday. Department officials stated that the female elephant had been killed in a fight with a bull elephant. The department has also started searching the other elephant involved in the fight. The Jhirna ranger Prashant Hindwan informed that the carcass of the elephant was spotted by a patrol on Friday morning. Prima facie, it appears that the elephant was killed in a fight with a bull elephant. After the post mortem examination, the body of the elephant was destroyed.
