Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that efforts will be made to make Kempty a Nagar Panchayat in order to facilitate planned development in the area. The chief minister made this announcement while attending the 30th sports and cultural fair at Agladghati in Kempty on Tuesday. He also announced a grant of Rs two lakh for the fair.
Dhami said that the process of regularisation of commercial shops and residential buildings built on civil land in Gram Panchayat Siya Kempty, Gram Panchayat Banglaen Ki Kandi and Kempty Fall will be taken forward. Stating that fairs play an important role in preserving the cultural heritage, he said that the Gauchar and Jauljivi Melas are fairs of international importance in Uttarakhand. The CM further said that the State government is making efforts to bring Uttarakhand in the category of best States of the country by 2025. He said that brainstorming is going on in the Chintan Shivir organised at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in the direction of making Uttarakhand the leading State of the country. The officials have been directed to ensure planned efforts in order to achieve this aim, he added.
